Symposium 2016

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the 8th annual DUNES Symposium will take place on Friday, 28th October 2016. Please save the date and start preparing your abstracts!

Who can apply?

Research Fellows, PhD students, as well as Research Associates and Research Assistants who are working in the fields of Life Sciences and Biomedical Research are welcome to submit their abstracts.

DUNES Symposium is open to fellow scientists from Duke-NUS, NUS, the Outram Campus (including National Cancer Centre, National Heart Centre and other SingHealth Institutions), A*STAR, NTU, and Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory.

Aims of the Symposium

The aims of the DUNES symposium are to provide a platform for all fledging scientists to showcase their research, share ideas and expertise with their peers and learn about career development opportunities.

Abstract submission

Abstract submission: from 9th September to 7th October.

Symposium agenda

There are two parts of the symposium: scientific talks and career development seminars. It is a full day event with lunch, tea breaks, and cheese & wine networking session. Selected posters will be displayed throughout the day together with product shows from our local vendors.

Awards

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the DUNES Committee and selected for either oral or poster presentations. The abstracts of oral and titles of poster presentations will be published in the DUNES 2016 Symposium booklet that will be available to all attendees.

The winner of Best Oral Presentation Award will receive a $200 voucher and a crystal plaque.

The winners of Best Poster Presentation Awards will each receive $100 voucher and a crystal plaque.

Scientific photo competition

This year we would like to call for submission of your best scientific images. The winner of this competition will be recognized and have their work showcased on the cover of our Symposium booklet, in addition to a $50 cash voucher.

Deadline for photo competition submission: 14th October.
